Robert E. Gibson

Robert E. Gibson, 92, Limestone, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 15, 2018. Robert was a member and former deacon of Cherry Hill Freewill Baptist Church. He was a lifelong farmer and employee of Gordon's Furniture.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth C. Gibson; parents, Sherman and Ada Gibson; 1 brother; and 3 sisters.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Doris Johnson and husband, Earl; son, Robert Allen Gibson and wife, Teresa Dawn; 4 grandchildren, Jessica Gouge and husband, Joshua, Jennifer Tate and husband, Wes, Joshua Gibson and wife, Rosanna, and Shawn Johnson and wife, Sarah; 7 great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Faith, Adeline, Katherine, Silas, Chloe, and Sadie; sister, Gladys Crawford; and several nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to NHC of Johnson City for the loving care that was given to Robert and also a special thanks to his special friend, Doug Gourley for all the care that he gave.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Cherry Hill Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Steve Wilson officiating.

Pallbearers will be Donald Crawford, Stanley Crawford, Wes Tate, Joshua Gouge, Joshua Gibson, Earl Johnson and David Brown. The honorary pallbearer will be Ray Keys.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Cherry Hill Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 470 Ducktown Road, Limestone, TN 37681.
