Robert C. "Nick" Gentry, Jr., 79, of Kingsport, died Wednesday, December 12, 2012.
Robert was born on February 6, 1933, in Bristol, VA. He moved to Kingsport in 1939 and graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1951. He retired from Eastman Chemical Products, Inc., NY, after 27 years of service. Robert was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church. He was a former member of Veterans Corps of Artillery, NY.
He was preceded in death by his father, R. Calvin Gentry, Sr.; mother, Mary Elizabeth Gentry and wife, Carolyn Pyle Gentry.
Robert is survived by a cousin, Suzanne Livornese, New York City, NY and special friends, Terri Carter and James Herring, Gray, TN.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 14th from 6-8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport with Rev. Mickey Rainwater officiating.
Entombment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be James Herring, Kermit Addington, Pat Basinger and Fred Moore.
