"The righteous will flourish like the date palm [long-lived, upright and useful]; they will grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic and stable]. Planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God.
[Growing in grace] they will still thrive and bear fruit and prosper in old age; they will flourish and be [a]vital and fresh [rich in trust and love and contentment]; [they are living memorials] to declare that the LORD is upright and faithful [to His promises]; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him." Psalms 92:12-15
Robert P. Meyerand, 87, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Monday, May 16, 2016 at NHC of Kingsport.
Born in Quincy, IL on October 30, 1928, a son of the late Carl and Helen Koch Meyerand, he has resided in this area since 1960.
Bob has long been a "fixture" at Cornerstone Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Eastman Kodak in 1993 following 33 years of service. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband and dad, Grandpa, great-grandpa, brother and friend who loved keeping up with his yard. At one time he bowled on the Eastman Bowling League, and he had attended Concordia Lutheran Church. Bob especially loved the Meyerand Beach Family Reunion that has been our special family tradition for over 40 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Coralie Ann; his second wife, Margaret Louise; and his daughter, Linda Kay Steinmann.
Bob is survived by his children, Nancy, David and wife, Karen, Kevin, and Frank and wife, Brenda; twelve grandchildren; six, soon to be eight, great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Meyerand of Warren, MI; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at NHC and the Nursing Staff of the Observation Floor at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center for their compassionate care of Bob.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport.
There will be a Celebration of Life conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Cornerstone Church.
