Robert ?Bob? Palmer, 67, of Kingsport, passed away Thursday morning, April 5, 2007, at Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol, Tennessee.
Mr. Palmer worked at Eastman Chemical Company for over 39 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Glen Alpine United Methodist Church and had been attending Sullivan Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Lester and Lois Palmer; a brother, John Palmer; and a sister-in-law, Donna Palmer.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Janet Palmer; four children, Bryan Palmer and wife, Donna of Gray, Tennessee, Greg Palmer and wife, Yvonne of Rogersville, Tennessee, Angela Palmer Bell and husband, Eric of Kingsport, and Andrew Palmer and wife, Tonya of Gate City, Virginia; a sister, Sandra Wagner and husband, Floyd of Kingsport; a brother, Gary Palmer of Blountville, TN; sister-in-law, Carolyn Palmer of Kingsport; a sister, Celeste Dickson and husband, Kim of Kingsport; grandchildren, Autumn Palmer of Gray, TN, Katrina Palmer of Hampton, TN, Tyler Cobb of Rogersville, TN, Brianna Bell of Kingsport, Austin and Peyton Palmer of Gate City, VA; a great-grandson, Blaine Evan Palmer of Hampton, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Strong officiating and eulogy by George Bolling.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Family and friends will gather at 9:50 a.m. Saturday at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are Johnny Spriggs, Jack Greer, Jim Bishop, Mark Moore, Mike Robinson, Don Mitchell, Ronnie Smith, and Mike Smith.
