Robert Bob H. Pyle, 64, of Kingsport, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening, September 27, 2010, at his home due to an apparent heart attack.

Bob was born in Scott County, VA, and had resided in West Carters Valley for most of his life. He graduated from Church Hill High School, Class of '63, and served in the Marine Corps in Vietnam from 1966 through 1968. He retired from Eastman Chemical Company Tenite Plastics in 1997. After retiring from ECC, he worked at Tri-Cities Aviation and currently was a security officer at Bristol Regional Hospital.

Bob had served as president of Lynn View Pee Wee Football League for several years. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Pyle.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Morelock Pyle, of the home, two sons, Roddy Pyle and wife, Ginger of Church Hill, and Eric Pyle and wife Stephanie, Daniel Island, SC; three grandchildren, Maddie, Marlee Kate, and Jameson Bailey; and two sisters, Pauline Ragle, of Church Hill, and Daisy Carter and husband, Don, of Mt. Carmel.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5 till 8 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Boyd Holder and Rev. Andy Sensabaugh officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m., with military rites presented by American Legion Posts #3/265. Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Bellamy, Louie Leamon, Kenny Thacker, Charles Stuffle, Steve Falin, and Clovis Yates.

Memorial gifts in Bob's honor may be given to Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, Rogersville, TN, c/o Anna Mae Morelock, 7500 Lone Star Road, Kingsport, TN 37660; or the Wexford House Activities Department, 2421 John B Dennis Hwy, Kingsport, TN 37660.
