Robert K. Rogers, age 83, passed away suddenly on August 22, 2013. A son of James Richard Rogers and Addie Shepherd Rogers, he had lived in and around the Kingsport area most of his life. Robert was a graduate of Sullivan High School. Robert was a retired businessman. He worked at Holston Auto Parts before starting two businesses, Stone Drive Sunoco and Weber City Auto Parts. Robert loved to bowl and participated in leagues for the past 50 years and was a charter Ruritan Club member.

He was a man of integrity who was a role model as a father and a member of the community. Robert was kind and gentle - and loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Richard Rogers, Jr. and John Hop Rogers.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patsye Parker Rogers; four children, Connie Allen (Dale), Karin Lane (Allan), Charles "Rick" Richard Rogers, and Robert "Rob" Milton Rogers (Lisa); six grandchildren, Heather Lane Stalvey (Derrall), Leslie Allen, Roger Allen, Nick Rogers, Cole Rogers and Luke Rogers; two great-granddaughters, Zoe and Ella Claire Stalvey; two sisters, Loretta Hughes Brandon and Lena Barnes (Robert); and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 pm.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Sunday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
