Bob Steadman, born in 1930, Sullivan Gardens Community, passed away peacefully at his home unexpectedly on Friday, October 2, 2015. He was born on the family farm and had resided in Sullivan Gardens his entire life. Bob was a retired business man and actively farmed until his death. He was a member of Glen Alpine United Methodist church. He was most proud of his grandchildren and his B.F. Avery Tractor collection.
Bob was the 11th and last surviving child of Sam P. and Ocia Ketron Steadman, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Geneva.
He is survived by his three sons, Joe Steadman of Kingsport, Mark Steadman of Johnson City, and Jeff Steadman of Kingsport; his two very special grandchildren, John and Samantha; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Glen Alpine United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow with Rev. Rhonda Hobbs officiating.
The burial will follow at Depew's Chapel.
