Robert Alan "Bob" Teague

Robert Alan “Bob” Teague, 68, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024. Born in Aurora, Illinois, and raised in Kingsport, he graduated from Sullivan West in 1974, where he played several sports. Following, he went to technical school where he learned to become an electrician. Bob was a proud member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for many, many years. He was incredibly social and never met a stranger. Anyone who spoke to him walked away with a new friend. He was an ardent supporter of The University of Tennessee athletes and loved attending games and watching from home. Bob took interest in others interests and could connect with others over any subject. His time, management, and passion for Teague’s Grocery provided the community with nourishment, conversation, and a lot of love and laughter from Bob. 

He was preceded in death by his son, Baby Boy Teague (December of 1979); father, Donald Teague, Sr. (August of 2023); mother, Ruth Flanary (March of 2024); brother, Don “Donnie” Teague, Jr.; and sister, Donna Teague Conrad.

Bob is survived by his soulmate, Rachel Mendez; children, Jessica Teague, Christian Teague, and Brynn Teague; sister, Deborah (Russell) Payne; brothers, George (Debbie) Teague and Nicholas (Mary) Teague; several beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins; and numerous close friends that he socialized with daily.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow with Russell Payne, brother-in-law officiating.

Burial will follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
