Robert “Bob” Linwood Trivits, age 85, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024. Bob was born in Elkton, Maryland on December 12, 1939 to the late Linwood E. and Ethel Irene Moore Trivits. He served in the Air National Guard and United States Navy after graduating high school.
Bob relocated to Newark, Delaware, where he would raise his family and then, back to Maryland to live closer to the water. Bob worked as an engineer at the Haskell Lab and Dupont until retiring. Bob enjoyed spending time with his buddies out by the water, along with his beloved dog, Ginger. He was an easy-going person; his happiness was either sitting by the water or sitting on the porch out in the country watching wildlife. When he had the chance to make a trip back up to Delaware, he enjoyed visiting his best friend, Calvin. Family was very special to him, whether it was celebrating holidays or attending family gatherings, he cherished every moment of it. Bob was blessed with a large family whom he loved dearly.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Linwood E. and Ethel Irene Moore Trivits; wife, Betty Jane Trivits; stepdad, Robert F. Mathis; grandmother, Pearl Trivits; sister, Janice Campbell; son, Jeff R. Trivits Sr.; and great-granddaughter, Jessia Ann Steele, and Arianna Mae Piner.
He is survived by his daughters, Christine L. Trivits, Ruth A. Allen (Ed), and Mary E. Lively (Steven); grandkids, Brittany, Michael, Harlea, Aubrey, Joshua, Randy, Trevor, Israel, Jakston, Sarah, Jacob, Michelle, Cody, and Jeff Jr.; great-grandkids, Lilly, Elijah, Maya, McKenna, Harper, Peyton, Bayleigh, Jordyn, Bryson, Caden, Preston, Austin, Noah, Jaxson, Kinsley, Watson, Justin, Dominick, Greyson, Zoiey, Kaelyn, Ty, Gracie, Lucas, Maddie, Samuel, Autumn, Chloe, Zachry, Harlynn, Paisley, Liam, Wyatt, and Gabby.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A military graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. following the visitation at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Posts 3/265.
