Roger Dale Longworth Jr

Roger Dale Longworth, Jr. 51, of Blountville, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Roger graduated from Central High School and Northeast State Community College. He previously worked for Eastman as a chemical operator and currently was employed at U.S. Nitrogen.

He was a good Dad and loved working with his son on cars, especially anything Ford. Roger greatly enjoyed going to car shows and swap meets. He was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church.

Roger is survived by his parents, Roger Sr. and Mary Longworth of Blountville, TN; son, Aaron Michael Longworth of Blountville, TN; sister, Tammy Longworth of Mesa, AZ; one aunt and several cousins of VA; and a very special caring friend.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 8:00 pm with Pastor Roy Graves officiating.

A graveside service will be conducted Monday at 1:00 pm at Gunnings Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Burke, Jim McCoy, Eddie Wright, Clayton Quinn, Wayne Ferguson and Randy Sluss. The honorary pallbearer will be Joe Cressell.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908, or to Sunnyside Baptist Church Building Fund, 406 Cooks Valley Rd., Kingsport, TN 37664.
