Roger Dale Stapleton, 52, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at his home. He was born in Yuma, AZ and had resided in Kingsport most of his life. Roger was a graduate of Ketron High School where he played football. He was an employee of Eastman Chemical C.M. & S. Division. Roger was a member of Kingsport First Assembly Church and had worked with the church youth and as a greeter.
He was an avid fisherman and a fan of U.T. and the Titans. Roger was a loving husband, son, brother and uncle.
Roger was preceded in death by his father, Bill Stapleton.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Reba G. Stapleton; mother, Beulah Stapleton Kerr; sister, Sandy Doughtery and husband, John; brothers, Stan Stapleton and wife, Sandy, and Mark Stapleton and wife, Melinda; nieces, August Walsh, Hailee Smith, Makenzey Smith, Kendall Stapleton and Jessica Dougherty; great-nephew, Miles Walsh; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Amanda Gross; sisters-in-law, Anita Morgan and husband, Shafter, Naomi Snyder and husband, Joe, Charlotte Collins and husband, Otis, and Audrey Collett; brothers-in-law, Kelvin Gross and wife, Jeri; and several other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 24th from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Phillip McElhenny officiating.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 25th at 11:00 at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.
