Fall Branch – Rolan E. Davis of Fall Branch went home to be with the Lord on March 26th, 6 months after his 100th birthday. He was born in Loudon, TN, and attended Loudon High School.
Roland was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years in January, Hazel Hall Davis, his mother Mary Ella Davis, grandparents Joseph and Ella Davis, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Roland volunteered for the US Navy in 1944 and served aboard the tanker, USS Navasota. He was discharged in 1946. After his discharge from the Navy, Roland had a variety of jobs, and in 1955 he opened Davis Supply in Fall Branch, TN. This business was very successful. He retired and sold the business in 1993.
Roland and Hazel were blessed to have traveled to many places in this country and abroad. He was also an avid hunter, and enjoyed the time spent with his hunting buddies. He hunted in TN, VA, NC, SD, CO, and WY.
Roland was a member of First Baptist Church of Fall Branch and loved singing in the choir if he was able. He also really enjoyed singing with the Appalachian Express.
Roland is survived by many very special friends, such as Stanley Hall, Donna and John Hansen, and Paul Jennings, as well as several cousins.
It was Roland’s wish to thank the caring staff at Preston Place I, for their wonderful care.
