Roma Parker Hann

Roma Parker Hann departed this life to be with the Lord on Monday, October 3, 2016 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Roma was born on October 17, 1938 in Kingsport, TN to the late Gaines and Lexie Monroe Parker. She graduated from Blountville High School and was a graduate of Cosmetology school in Mt. Washington, PA, and was the owner of several businesses. Roma was a member of Holy Mountain Baptist Church and loved attending church and the fellowship of her church family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hann; two brothers, Paul Parker and G.R. Parker; sister, Angela Ruth Young; and sister-in-law, Nadine Parker.

Roma is survived by her daughter, Terri and son-in-law, Rod King of Atlanta, GA; son, Jack Hann, Jr. and wife Cheryl of Mobile, AL; grandchildren, Aaron and Meredith King, and Erica and Josh Lowery; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eveline Platz and husband Marvin, and Velma Ketron and husband Marce; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow with Pastor Jerry Musick officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 7, 2016 at East Lawn Memorial Park. Those planning to attend should meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Josh Ketron, Brian Platz, Tommy Guy, Gary Oliver, Larry Watts, and Trevor Cole. Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Platz, Marce Ketron, Larry Johnston, Aaron King, Josh Lowery, and Greg Platz.

The family would like to extend thanks to the staff of Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center; and a special thanks to Dr. Nathan; and nurses, Alice and Jamie; and caregivers, Ann and Marsha.
