Ronald Christian

Ronald "Pete" Christian, 70, of Church Hill, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, September 13, 2010 at his home following a brief illness.

He was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and a member of West View Baptist Church. Mr. Christian retired from Willamette Industries in 2002. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and UT VOLS sports.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Bob and Alice Conant; mother, Lucille Evans; and his brother, Ricky Lynn Evans.

Surviving are his wife, Pat Christian of Church Hill; one son, Wes Christian and wife, Tanya of Cookeville, TN; one sister, Sharon Skeens and husband, Daniel of Knoxville; several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law; and his two special buddies, Abbey and Maggie.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at West View Baptist Church. Services will follow at 8 p.m. at the church with Pastor Mike Stout officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Oak Hill Memorial Park with military rites by the American Legion Posts #3/265 and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 979 of Kingsport.

Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men's Sunday School Class at West View Baptist Church.
