Ron Coffey, 55, of Kingsport, died at 11:50 p.m. on Thursday, November 26, 2009, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Ron had resided in the Tri-Cities area since 1996 and resided in Kingsport for six years. Ron was an employee of the Johnson City Power Board where he was an electrician for the past ten years. He was a member of AERIE #3141. Ron was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Reba Coffey; son, Eric Esparza Coffey; two brothers, Billy Ray Coffey and Jimmie Allen Coffey; and a sister, Cathy Marie Gibson.
Ron is survived by his wife, Cindy Kay Coffey, of Kingsport; four daughters, Emily Coffey of Kingsport, Kisha De Le Garza of Pasadena, TX, Jennifer Everhart of Xenia, OH, and Marcia Adams of Kingsport; eleven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a sister, Darlene Sampson of Fall Branch.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Reverend Mike Malone officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date.
