Ronald Eugene Fry, Sr

Ronald E. Fry, Sr., 76, of Kingsport, died Saturday, November 24, 2012, at the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center, after an extended illness.

He was born in Layton, PA, where he resided until he joined the U.S. Air Force. Ronald retired from the Air Force as a Master Sergeant in 1976, after 22 years of service, which included time in Vietnam. He completed his Bachelors degree, at age 50, from ETSU in 1985, while maintaining two jobs. Ronald taught Industrial Arts at Scott County Vocational Center, Sullivan South High School and Sullivan North High School. He enjoyed wood working and automotive repair work as well as welding.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Connie "Buddie" Fry, of Kingsport; daughters, Corene Fry, of Orlando, FL, Dr. Bonnie Randolph and husband, Dr. Patrick Randolph, of Memphis; son, Ron Fry, Jr., of Orlando, FL; sisters-in-law, Barbara Donald and husband, Larry, of Kingsport, Diana Clark and husband, Gary, of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Clark, Patrick Clark, Andrew Gibbons, Larry Mark Donald, Brian McFarlane and Paul Supino.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 27, from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with The Rev. Dr. William D. Gibson and Pastor Roy Graves officiating.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 28, at 1:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Posts # 3/265.
