Ronald Lee McPherson, 69, Kingsport, passed away early Wednesday morning at Wellmont HVMC due to a heart attack. Ron was born in Kingsport where he had resided his entire life and was a graduate of Lynn View High School, class of '59. Ron was an employee of Building Accents in Bristol, VA. He was a Mason and Shriner, member of Jonesborough Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and active in the Sullivan County Democratic Party. Ron also officiated in various sports throughout the Tri-Cities area. He loved to travel abroad with his friends.

Ron is survived by his wife Margaret Midge McPherson of Kingsport; three daughters Wendy Ivens and husband Greg of White Pine, TN, Kristy Vincent and husband Bruce of Blountville, TN and Marty McPherson of Smyrna, GA; two step-daughters Sonja Tucker and husband John of Dyersburg, TN and Heidi Page of Kingsport, TN; ten grandchildren, Brandon and Jeremy Walz, Bradley, Chelsea, Bobby and Kellie Ivens, Ben Tucker, Stone, Cade and Macee Page; brother Claude Olin McPherson, Jr. and wife Kay of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Family will receive friends on Friday, September 16, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Services will follow at 8:00 p.m., Rev. Allen Huff officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, September 17th at 2:00 p.m. at Gunnings Cemetery, Blountville, TN. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Walz, Brandon Walz, Bobby Ivens, Ben Tucker, Stone Page, Bradley Ivens, Greg Ivens, Bruce Vincent and John Tucker.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231.
