Rondall Jeno, 82, of Kingsport, died Sunday, September 27, 2009, at Wexford House. He was born May 24, 1927, in Roda, Virginia, to William R. Jeno, Sr. and Della Sproles Jeno. He worked for Hecht's Sunbeam Bakery as a salesman, and retired from the Meade Company after 23 years. He was a life member of the V.F.W., having served in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946. He served in Italy during World War II.
He was a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church. He enjoyed have morning coffee with his friends at 6:00 a.m. every day at Hardee's.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys V. Austin Jeno, two sisters, Sally Jeno Green and Neva Jean Jeno Pearson; a brother, William R. Jeno, Jr.; and sister-in-law Mozilla Jeno.
He is survived by two sisters, Maurine Vanover and husband Rufus, and Marguerite Davidson and husband Jack, all of Kingsport; two brothers-in-law, Frank Green and Charles Pearson, Kingsport; several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, and several great-great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special niece, Sharon Daly, of North Carolina; sister-in-law Lois Austin, Appalachia, VA, and friend Marie Trent of Kingsport.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7:00 p.m., with Pastor Raymond Amos and Pastor Joe Barber officiating. John Powers will provide music.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 3/265 on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be nephews and friends.
