Rose Alba "Rosie" Chapman

Rose Alba Jones Chapman, 85 of Kingsport, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness. Rosie was born in Kingsport where she had lived her entire life. She was a graduate of Sullivan High School, class of 1956. Rosie was a teller at First Tennessee Bank from where she retired. Rosie loved and supported her granddaughters playing softball, and loved spending time at the beach.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Chloe Jones; brother, Willie; sister, JoAnn Franklin; and brother-in-law, Harold Franklin.

Survivors include her high school sweetheart and husband of 65 years, Alfred C. Chapman; children, Scott Chapman and wife, Trish and Angie Chapman; two granddaughters, Allison and Madison; and special family, Katelin and Kinley.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Family will serve as pallbearers.
