Rose Marie Darnell Arnold

Rose Marie Darnell Arnold, 78, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 26, 2015. Born in Scott County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Charles Monroe and Mary Rogers Darnell. She retired from Eastman Chemical Company after many years of dedication. Rose, well known as a loving mother, was the family genealogist and a member of the DAR, Eastern Star, Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of the Union, Colonial Dames, and a member of the Rebeccas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Arnold, and sister, Pansy Ball.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Donna Marie Arnold of Kingsport; son, Jeffery B. Arnold and wife, Katherine T. Arnold of Marietta, GA; half-brother, Ronnie McLaughlin of Richland, VA; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Judy Walkey; and special granddogs, Duchess and Prince.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-5:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A memorial service will be conducted at 5:00 pm by the Order of the Eastern Star, Fairview Chapter #80 followed by Carters Fort National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. A funeral service will follow with Minister Harlan McDavid officiating.

A graveside service will be held on Monday at 11:00 am at Holston View Cemetery with Rev. Odell Beauchamp, Chaplain officiating. Friends and family members will serve as pallbearers.
