Roy O. ?Rudd? Armentrout, 90, Fall Branch, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at his home following a lengthy illness.
Born in Limestone, TN, he had resided his entire life in Washington County, TN. Mr. Armentrout was a veteran of World War II having served with the U. S. Army and was retired from Armstrong Construction Company in Kingsport.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ora Casteel; his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
Surviving are his wife, Reba Armentrout, Fall Branch; one son, Steve Armentrout, Fall Branch; one daughter, Joyce Philpott, Marietta, GA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special nephew, Paul Armentrout of the Bowmantown community; and several other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch.
Services will follow at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Fall Branch Chapel with Pastor Lester Morelock, Chaplain Bob Gibson, and Rev. Gaither Townsend officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Oak Glen Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post No. 3/265.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
