Roy Eugene Bagley, 76, Kingsport, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2007.
Roy served his country during the Korean Conflict with the U. S. Marine Corps and worked at J. P. Stevens for 42 years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who adored his grandson, Matthew. Roy never met a stranger and was a friend to all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Maude Bagley; two sisters, Frances Cope and Helen Good; special aunt, Ollie Mowdy; and special pet, ?Baby?.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Mary Lou Bagley; daughter, Cindy Simpson; one grandson, Matthew Nunley and wife, Bethany, all of Kingsport; sister, Violet Johnson and husband, J. C., Kingsport; two brothers, Walter Lee Bagley, Church Hill and Floyd Otho Bagley and wife, Shawna, Kingsport; and several special nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. J. W. Depew officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at East Lawn Memorial Park with military graveside rites conducted by the Charles DeWitt Byrd Post #3382 of the VFW.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
