Roy Lee Crawford, 63, of 508 Rich Drive, Kingsport, TN, went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 3, 2008 at Brookhaven Manor.
Roy spent his last four years at 550 Mill Creek Road with the love of his life, Mary Heneger. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting and spending time with his loving dog "Peanut".
He was of the Baptist faith.
Roy was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Samuel Crawford; mother, Ethel Mae Crawford; brother, Elmer Guy Crawford; and nephew, Tim Neal.
He is survived by one sister, Mary Frances Neal and husband Clyde of West Union, Ohio; two brothers, Howard Leonard Crawford and wife Pauline of Kingsport, and Hugh S. Crawford, Jr. and wife Debbie of Kingsport; four nieces, Crystal Haynes and husband Jason of Mount Carmel, Jennifer Crawford, Crystal Stanley, and Madison Crawford, all of Kingsport; two nephews, Kenney Stapleton and Charles Stapleton, both of Kingsport; four great-nieces, Mikaylah Stapleton, Morgan Stapleton, Olivia Stapleton, and Gracie Stanley, all of Kingsport; two great nephews, Kaden Haynes of Mount Carmel and Zacharee Crawford of Kingsport; and the love of his life, Mary Heneger.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Friends may also visit any time at 103 Yokley Street, Kingsport, TN 37660.
Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Dr. Ed Dillowe officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Double Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James McNew, Dale Barnes, Mike Short, Jason Haynes, Kenney Stapleton, and Charles Stapleton.
The family would like to give a special thanks for the care Roy received while at Brookhaven and also to Hospice House.
