Roy Lee Sonny Dykes
Roy Lee "Sonny" Dykes, 70, passed away at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center at 2:50 a.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2010. He was born and lived all his life in Washington County, Tennessee.
Sonny was preceded in death by his father and mother, Glen Dykes and Pauline Dykes; and a brother, Gary Dykes.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Moore Dykes; a daughter, Melissa; son, Chris and wife Martha; two granddaughters, Brittany and Christy Dykes; two grandsons, Burl and Bobby Walker; sister and brother-in-law, Yvonne and Frank Henson; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Lewis Meade and Evangelist Shelton Meade officiating. Music will be provided by Roy and Traci Dolen and Arlene Estepp.
Burial will be on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Lovelace Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family members and friends. Honorary ministers will be Rev. Orville Dolen and Rev. G.W. Jobe.
