Roy Johnson

Roy Johnson, 85, of Kingsport, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2016, at his home following an extended illness. Born in Blowing Rock, N.C., he had resided most of his life in Kingsport. He worked at Giant and Food Lion Markets for 37 years. Roy was a true Christian and lived by his faith every day.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Alma Johnson; sister, Helen Wampler; and two brothers, Clyde and Kenneth Johnson.

Roy is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Wanda Johnson; son, Dallas Van Arnold; grandson, Trevor Arnold; one great-grandson, Cason Arnold; several nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins; and many friends.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
