Roy Kenneth Sexton

Roy Kenneth Sexton, 75, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 29, 2018.

Born in Kingsport on September 27, 1942, a son of the late Roy H. and Anna Belle Sexton, he has resided in this area his entire life. As a member of the US Army, he served during the Vietnam War, where he was a Military Police officer, a member of the CID and "1 of the fighting 36." Roy retired from Eastman Chemical Company in 1997 following 30 years of service in the Tenite Division. He was a member of VFW and NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, turkey shooting, and working on cars.

In addition of his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Annette Sexton Glass; aunt, Captola Liebman; and father-in-law, Pastor Charles R. Morgan.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Sue Morgan Sexton; son, Marion Wayne Sexton; daughter, Stephanie Sexton and fiance Dan Patrick; mother-in-law, Ruth Pearl Morgan; two brothers, Travis Lee Sexton and wife, Doris, and Gary Wayne Sexton; one sister, Debra Faye Sexton Cox and husband, Anthony of Indiana; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Hank Dunn and his entire family of Kentucky.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and aides at Mountain Home VA Medical Center.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Barney Fields officiating.

The graveside service will be held Wednesday afternoon at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
