Roy Linville "Bud" Shipley Jr

Roy Linville "Bud" Shipley, Jr., 74, of Fall Branch, TN, went to be with the Lord Friday, September 9, 2016 at his home, due to an apparent heart attack. Bud was born in Sullivan County and had resided in Cocke County, Loudon County, and Newberry, SC as a herdsman for various farmers. He was a 1960 graduate of Sullivan High School and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Bud was a loving father, grandfather, and brother.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Margaret Shipley; brother, Terry Shipley; and sister, Betty Williams.

Bud is survived by his four children, Buddy Shipley and wife Kella of Greeneville, TN, Dominique Baker and husband Johnny of Del Rio, TN, Johnny Shipley and wife Sabrina of Chuckey, TN, and Selena Hall and husband Jr, of Limestone, TN; four grandchildren, Ashley, Logan, Madison, and John Wayne; six step-grandchildren; and sister, Cookie Franklin and husband Sherman of Kingsport.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2016 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Vic Wallace officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Emory United Methodist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Emory United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 425 Emory Church Road, Kingsport, Tennessee 37664.
