Roy Beryl Martin

Roy Beryl Martin, 84, of Fall Branch, passed away at his home Saturday, January 10, 2015 with his family around him.

He was a lifelong resident of Washington County and Fall Branch, Tennessee. He was a farmer during his early life then retired from the Department of Transportation, State of Tennessee. He enjoyed fishing and NASCAR.

Roy Beryl was preceded in death by his parents, Enos and Ora Mae; wife, Emma Walker Martin; brothers, Oval and Clifford Martin; sisters, Eula Brown and Mary B. Hicks; step-grandson, Jerry Wayne Grooms; step-daughter-in-law, Judy Grooms.

He is survived by his sons, Billy Martin and wife, Joan; Rex Martin and Diane; Lyndle Martin and Lisa; daughters, Lisa Marcum and husband, Randy, Vicki Martin; step-son, Jerry Grooms; grandchildren, Brian, Travis, Daniel, Michael Martin and Christine Martin Hux; Natasha Gray; Tyler Marcum; Pam Grooms; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Deloris Hicks; mother of his children, Madge Martin Jones; special friend, Joyce Harrison; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 12, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch with services following at 7 p.m. Pastor Victor Wallace and Pastor Vivian Franklin will be officiating.

Graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Jonesborough.

Pallbearers will be Travis Martin, Brian Martin, Jerry Grooms, David Brown, Michael Martin, and Randy Marcum.

Honorary pallbearers are Daniel Martin, Don Kite, Earl Martin and Thomas Barnes.

The family would like to say a special "thank you" to Caris Healthcare and special caregivers, Jessica Miller, Ben Hoskins and Dr. Michael Hartsell.
