Roy Keith Short, 77, of Jonesborough, TN, died Saturday, March 10, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following an illness.
Born in Pike County, KY on February 17, 1935, Keith was an electrician for many years and a long-time member of the IBEW #934.
He loved the mountains and enjoyed fishing. He was a loving father and grandfather.
Roy was preceded in death by his father, William Franklin Short and his wife, Dorothy Lee Short.
He is survived by his children: Debra Short of Jonesborough, Anthony Short and wife, Teddie of Sullivan Gardens, and Becky Carie and husband Randy of Hermitage TN; grandchildren, Christina Marie Palermo, Bryan K. Short, Zachary Carie; great-grandchild, Makenzie Addie Grace Short; mother, Draxie Short of Jonesborough; brother, Don W. Short of Jonesborough; sister, Wilma Bralley of Jonesborough; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Nathan Ware officiating.
Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, at 10 a.m. at Holston View Cemetery. Those wishing to go in procession to the cemetery should meet at the funeral home by 9:30 a.m.
