Rubin J. Overbay
Rubin J. Overbay, 91, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2015. He was born in Smyth County, VA. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and retired from Tennessee Eastman after 32 years. Rubin was the son of the late John Henry and Laura Overbay.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and six brothers.
Rubin is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marie; two daughters and their husbands, Jean and Sam Chellino, and Linda and Don Sauls; one sister, Viola Overbay; four grandchildren, Michael Dockery, Andrea Claiborne, Jonathan Sauls, and Ryan Sauls; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be a graveside service at East Lawn Memorial Park in Kingsport at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2015, Rev. Don Sauls and Rev. Ron Lowe officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
