Ruby P. Ball, 95, of Kingsport, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012, after a brief illness.

She was a 59-year member of the Pilot Club of Kingsport and a member of Vermont United Methodist Church.

Ruby was a loving sister, aunt, and friend to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Cora Ball; two brothers, Oscar and Omar Ball; and two sisters, Reba Sexton and Virginia Wells.

Survivors include a brother, James Cecil Ball of Burton, West Virginia; one niece and two nephews, whom she helped raise, Linda L. Ball Tomaszewski of New Martinsville, West Virginia, James L. "Jimmy Ball of Wheeling, West Virginia, and Harvey J. Ball of Simpsonville, SC; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.

The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jared Wood officiating.

Burial will be at Barrett Family Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
