Ruby Florence Harville Fletcher, 85, of Mt. Carmel died Sunday, February 10, 2008, at her home after an extended illness.
Born in Washington County, Virginia, she had resided in Kingsport most of her life. She was retired from the Housekeeping Department at Indian Path Medical Center.
Ruby was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Harville in 1980; her second husband, Elmer Fletcher in 2004; her parents, Henry and Virginia Winegar Barr; three brothers, Howard Barr, Clyde Barr, and William Ray Barr; and one sister, Sallie Mae Barr.
Surviving are two daughters, Judy Knight of Mt. Carmel, Linda Lawson and Terry Jenkins of Mt. Carmel; one son Wayne Harville and Kate Vicars of Kingsport; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Duncan, Jonesborough, TN, Mabel Ball, Bristol, TN; two brothers, Donald Barr, Bristol, TN, Perry Barr of Texas; a brother-in-law, George Fletcher and wife Glorianna of Grundy, VA; and special friend, Barbara King of Kingsport.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport and any time at the home of Linda Lawson, 704 Seven Oaks Lane, Mt. Carmel.
There will be a graveside service at 12:00 Noon Wednesday at Emory United Methodist Church Cemetery with Chaplain Robert Gibson officiating. Those attending should meet at the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Wayne Harville Jr., Timothy Scott Harville, Charles Dustin Knight, Wesley Lawson, Jason Lawson, and Terry Jenkins.
