Ruby May Hash, born October 3, 1937, died Friday, November 7, 2008 after a long and hard battle with cancer for eight years.
She was employed at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center for thirty-six years in the Dietary Department.
Ruby was a member of Arcadia Presbyterian Church. She loved her church family, church children, and they loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Hash; sisters, Helen Salling and Hazel Christian; brother, Samuel Hash; and nephew, Allen Good.
Survivors include her mother, Sarah Maude Hash of Kingsport; two sisters, Edna Fay Hash her twin of Kingsport and Reba Good and husband Randall of Church Hill; brothers, Robert "Joe" Hash and wife Janet of Church Hill and Jerry Wayne Hash of Kingsport; brother-in-law, Johnny Christian of Kingsport; nieces, Vanessa Christian and Donna Akins, both of Kingsport; nephews, Jason Hash and Joshua Hash of Kingsport, Ricky Good of Kentucky, Samuel Good and Cody Good of Church Hill; great-nieces, Heather Good, LeeAnn Good, and Emily Hash, all of Kingsport; great-nephews, Wesley Christian, Brandon Carter, Travis Good, and Timothy Good all of Kingsport; great-great-nephew, Jared Good Cox; and several aunts and cousins.
A special thanks to hospice nurse, Becky Sutherland, the staff of Resp-I-Care, and Dr. Edwin McElroy.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. John Irwin and Rev. Larry Stallard officiating. Music will be provided by the Arcadia Presbyterian Church Choir.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Hoyt Woodward, Ralph Campbell, Steve Johnson, Ken Strickland, Robbie Walker, Larry Kinsler, and Grady Bell.
