Ruby Helen Hurley

Ruby Helen Hurley, 78, of Kingsport, died at home after a brief illness Thursday morning, January 10, 2019. Born in Bristol, VA, she had resided in Kingsport since 1960. Ruby was a homemaker and was a member of Sullivan Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers and 1 sister.

Ruby is survived by her husband, Larry Hurley of the home; daughter, Kristi Hurley Abercrombie and husband, Steve of Chattanooga; son, Kevin Hurley and wife, Lily of Winston-Salem, NC; 2 grandsons, Adam Mays and Aaron Mays; sister, Lois Houser and husband, Wayne of Gray; special niece, Linda Box; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 pm on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jeff Strong officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Shriner Hospital, 950 W. Fair Rd., Greenville, SC 29605.
