Ruby Overbay Whaley

Ruby Overbay Whaley, 88, Kingsport, TN, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at noon at Holston Manor. Ruby was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County and retired from Colonial Heights Hardware Store.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Whaley and parents, Nora and Roy Overbay.

Ruby is survived by sons, Otis and Cora Whaley of Kingsport, and Stephen and Kim Whaley of Lenoir, NC; 5 grandchildren, Nathaniel, Stephen and wife, Hanna, Chelsea, Mitzi and John; and 9 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 3-5:00 pm on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

The graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 am on Monday, June 25, 2018 at East Tennessee Cemetery with Brother Albert Williams and Rev. Dennis Spears officiating.
