Ruby A. Pierce

Ruby A. Pierce, 84, passed away January 26, 2013, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a length illness. She was born October 8, 1928 in Greene County, TN. She lived the majority of her life in Kingsport.

Ruby was a faithful member of Bethany F.W.B. Church for as long as her health permitted. She retired from Eastman Kodak with over forty years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents W. D. Billy Pierce and Rosie English Pierce; three brothers, George Pierce and wife, Mavis Jackson Pierce, Hugh C. Pierce and wife, Lizzie Adams Pierce Fox, Cecil B. Jack Pierce and wife, Gladys Pierce; two sisters, Mary Nell Pierce Blankenbecler and husband, E. B. Jitney Blankenbecler, Alta Pierce Carr and husband, Clifford Carr; niece, Donna C. Pierce; and a nephew, Bernie Pierce.

Ruby is survived by her nephews, Freddie Pierce and wife, Susan, Gary Pierce, Bill Carr and wife, Susan, Jimmy Carr, Johnny Carr and wife, Paula; nieces, Janice Carr Wilson and her husband, Jerry, Cathy Carr Lowe and husband, Selmer, Nancy Carr, Joan Tullock and husband, Cletus; several great and great-great nieces and nephews; special distant cousin, Matthew Jessee, whom she loved as a son, and wife Krista.

The family will receive friends at Hamlett-Dobson, Fall Branch, on Monday, January 28th from 5-7:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Donnie Bailey officiating.

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 29th at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Brad Pierce, Wes Pierce, Matthew Jessee, Stacey Lowe, Eric Pierce and Johnny Carr.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Brookhaven Manor and Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center's ICU step-down, Wellmont W-3 and Amedysis Hospice for the love and care that was shown to Aunt Ruby. A special thank you to Elizabeth Foutch and her daughter, Diana, for years of faithful love and care.
