Russell Clayton "Clay" Dubberly, 82, Kingsport, TN, died Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.

He was born April 20, 1929 in Glenville, Georgia, he was the son of the late Jim Easterling Dubberly and Russell Clayton Dubberly.

Clayton Graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in chemistry and served in the U. S. Military, Army Division. He was employed by Eastman Chemical Company for 42 years and retired in 1991 as the Vice President of International Marketing sales.

Mr. Dubberly was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church, Kingsport Civitan Club, and was also very active in many other civic organizations.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean B. Dubberly, his son, Russell Clayton Dubberly, Jr., and his sisters, Iris Dubberly of Glenville, GA and Nancy Purcell of Hinesville, GA.

Surviving are his sons, John A. Dubberly, Nashville, TN, and Michael C. Dubberly and wife, Mary of Hillsborough, NJ; one daughter, Terri Dubberly, Kingsport, TN; and grandson, Michael Benjamin Dubberly, Hillsborough, NJ; three nieces, Sandra Williams, Gulf Shores, AL; Jim Anne Brett and Lucile Lott, Albany, GA.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday April 7, 2012 at First Broad Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Weikel and Rev. Mickey Rainwater officiating.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church.

A private family graveside service will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012.
