Russell "Russ" Rusty Hittle, 57, of Mt. Carmel passed away August 4, 2011 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Russ was born in Zanesville, Ohio. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a life member and past Commander of American Legion Post 29, Zanesville, Ohio, Member and Past Trustee of Eagles Aeerie 3141 Kingsport, TN and organized TREC Golf Association in Florida. Russ was an avid golf and poker player.
Russ was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Walter and Mary Hittle, his maternal grandparents, Cecil and Rose Browning, brother Donnie Hittle and mother-in-law Lucille "Ceil" Thompson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jeannie Hittle from Mount Carmel, his two sons Joseph Hittle and wife Vicky of Zanesville, Ohio and Steven Hittle and wife Joanne of San Antonio, Texas. Two grandchildren, Russell and Stormie. Parents, Roger and Anne Hittle of Zanesville, Ohio. Sister Melinda Parrill of Merritt Island, Florida and two brothers Jack Hittle and John Hittle, both of Zanesville, Ohio. Several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, August 7th, between 1-2:00p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. The service will follow at 2:00p.m with Rev. Robert Burlingham officiating.
