Russell "Rusty" Wayne Stewart

Russell Wayne Stewart, 58, of Bristol, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He grew up in Blountville and had resided in Bristol for most of his life. Rusty was a 1978 graduate of Sullivan Central High School.  He currently was employed at Aerus Electrolux in Bristol, VA for almost 40 years. Rusty enjoyed spending time with family, especially hunting and fishing with his son, Josh and grandson, Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas and Emma Lee Stewart; and infant brother, Donald Stewart.

Rusty is survived by his wife, Kathy Stewart of the home; son, Josh Stewart and wife, Brandi of Piney Flats; 2 stepchildren, Kristy Reece of Johnson City, and Brandon Little and wife, Starlett of Fuquay-Varina, NC; 2 grandchildren, Jackson and Gracie Stewart; mother-in-law, Lou McMurray; sister-in-law, Janet Burk, Blountville; brother-in-law, Marty McMurray; 5 step-grandchildren; and 2 brothers.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 pm on Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.  The memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Scott Greene officiating.
