Ruth Pridemore Bachman of Kingsport died at 12:40 a.m. Sunday, January 8, 2012, at Asbury Center at Baysmont.
Born in Clinchport, VA, she had resided in Kingsport since 1925. Mrs. Bachman was a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church. She was employed with Kingsport Press for over 18 years.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Horace N. Bachman; 3 sisters, Rosalie Pridemore, Reba P. Morton and Susan Pridemore Cole; and 2 brothers, Hiram C. Pridemore, Jr. and William H. Pridemore.
She is survived by her nephews, Bill Bachman and wife, Pam of Kingsport, TN, Larry Pridemore of Indianapolis, IN, Dr. Jim Johnson and wife, Neil of Dothan, AL; her niece, Patsy Stygall of Indianapolis, IN; her sister-in-law, Helen Bachman; her great-nephews, Jerod Bachman, Jim Cain of Lowell, MA, Jay Johnson of Panama City Beach, FL, and Joe Erwin of Johnson City, TN; and her great-nieces, Peggy Cain of Hampstead, NH, Barbara Uhl of Raleigh, NC, Ashley Carroll of Dothan, AL, Dr. Carole Lea Flowers of Dothan, AL, Terri Smith of Doylestown, PA, Becky Steele of Olive Branch, MS, and Mary Erwin of Christiansburg, VA.
A special note of gratitude for the love and kindness of her caregivers, Jean Ketron and Lisa Perry. The family also expresses their thankfulness and appreciation to all at Asbury Baysmont Center for their care and love.
Ruth's light shined brightly for the Lord. She let her love be seen by all.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 11, from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. at First Broad Street United Methodist Church. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. Mickey Rainwater officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
