Ruth M. Bacon

Ruth M. Bacon, 83, Church Hill, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Mrs. Bacon was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Bradenton, Florida. She resided there following her retirement from Indian Path Medical Center where she worked as a nurse. She had moved back to Tennessee to be close to her family in her later years.

Her parents and two brothers preceded her in death.

Surviving are her husband, Wayne Bacon of Church Hill; her daughter, Jimmye Ruth Rogers and husband Mike of Church Hill; three grandsons, Mike Redman and wife Karen, Barry Redman and wife Christine, and Michael Rogers; and one great-grandson, Ryan Redman.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport and anytime at 223 Fox Meadows Drive, Church Hill.

Services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Gary Gerhardt officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Eastern Star Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
