Ruth Jeanette Kitzmiller Booher, 77, Kingsport, began her new life with her Lord Sunday August 3, 2008.
She is enjoying the fellowship of her parents, Zed and Chessie McCray Kitzmiller. Beginning with her brother, Orville "Dick" Kitzmiller, who was killed in Guam in World War II, she was preceded in death by all six of her brothers and sisters. She is finally holding her precious daughter, Lisa Carol, for the first time.
A life-long resident of Sullivan County, Ruth was an active vital member of Beulah Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for over 50 years. Her joyful spirit and Godly influence was felt by many young people throughout the years. She took great pleasure in playing the piano and taking care of family and friends.
Ruth is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Lloyd E. Booher of Kingsport; her son and daughter-in-law, Louis and Dianna Booher of Old Hickory, TN; her daughter, Janet Myers-Thornburg of Kingsport; her two grandchildren, Shaun Booher and Megan Kennedy and her husband, John; two great-granddaughters, Chaeli and Brooklynn; sisters-in-law, Ruby Kitzmiller and Anabell Kitzmiller, both of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Al South officiating. Music will be provided by the Beulah Baptist Church Choir.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.
Her grandson and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
