Ruth H. Burke, 81, died Wednesday afternoon, December 8, 2010 at Indian Path Medical Center after an extended illness. Ruth was born in Kingsport where she had lived her entire life. She attended Depew Chapel United Methodist Church.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, W. Clay Burke; parents, John E. and Nola Archer Hood; and her brother, Glen Hood.
Survivors include her sister, Ruby Horton of Kingsport; sister-in-law, Anna Lee Middleton; brother-in-law, Horace Burke; niece, Sandy Arnold; nephew, Ronnie Hood and very special friends, Carolyn and Kenneth Coates of Kingsport.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2010 at Hamlett-Dobson. The service will begin at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Paul Lane officiating.
The graveside service will be held at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
