Ruth Elizabeth McCracken Cannon, Asbury Place, Kingsport, passed away on September 15, 2012, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. She was blessed with good health until shortly before her passing which was sudden, but very quiet and peaceful.
She was born in Washington County and resided in Kingsport most of her life. Ruth was a graduate of Whitney's School of Business and a former employee of Eastman Chemical Company. She was a long time, loyal member of First Christian Church and a member of the Social Order of The Beauceant.
Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Bill Cannon; her parents, Arthur and Estella McCracken; infant sister, Louise; brothers, J. A. McCracken, Earl McCracken and Martin McCracken.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Warren Williams and son-in-law, Tom Williams, of Waynesville, NC; sisters, Mrs. Don Bessie Leonard, of Johnson City and Mrs. Dean Mary Nell Burleson, of Jackson, TN.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10-11:00 a.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. with Phipp Sams, Minister, officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Hill Memorial Park.
