Ruth Clark, 81, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Monday, August 22, 2022, at Holston Valley Medical Center following a period of declining health. Born in Zearing, IL on September 15,1940, a daughter of the late Tom and Blanche Minnick, she had resided in this area for the last two and a half years, moving from Hattiesburg, MS, and Cuba, IL. She was of the Catholic faith. Ruth will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mom, grammie, sister and friend who loved to garden and read and was a very active individual, caring for her loved ones.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Garnette and Carol Sue Conrad.
Ruth is survived by her children, Mark Brown of TN, Tamara Mowell and son-in-law, Gary of Kingsport, and Col. Gary Brown and daughter-in-law Lt. Col. Kimberly Brown of Alexandria, VA; two grandsons, Jeremy Mowell and Bradley Brown; four great-grandchildren, Skylar, Hailey, Reese, and soon to be born, Opie; brother, Tom Minnick and sister-in-law Ruth of Davenport, IA; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Patsy and Earl Clayborn.
Honorary pallbearers will be Col. Gary Brown, Gary Mowell, Jeremy Mowell, and Skylar Mowell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Dominic Catholic Church, 2517 N John B Dennis Hwy, Kingsport, TN 37660.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and staff who greatly accommodated her wishes.
