Ruth M. Cressell

Ruth M. Cressell, 84, of Blountville, went home to be with the Lord following a short illness on Saturday, December 27, 2014. Born in Nickelsville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Lee Marshall and Edna Fay Wallace. Ruth and her mom owned and operated Wallace Fabric Shop in Blountville for many years. She was a charter member of Gunnings Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, T. J. Cressell and brother, Dahl Marshall.

Ruth is survived by her two sons, Joe Cressell and wife, Holly of McDonough, GA, and Gary Cressell and wife, Sherry of Blountville; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sister, Bobbie Corvin of Bristol, VA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5-7:00 pm at Gunnings Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Bob Ferguson officiating.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Gunnings Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
