Ruth Parker Horne

Ruth Parker Horne, 79, died on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at home and entered the heavenly gates following a long battle with diabetes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Darter and Lola Parker; brothers, Delma and Robert "Junior" Parker, and sister, Alice Riner.

Ruth is survived by her husband, James Horne; daughters, LeDelhia (Nelson) Hall of Kingsport, and Tammy Horne (Chris Surma) of Lillington, NC; son, Ronald Horne of the home; grandsons, James (Chrystal) Hall of Bristol, TN, and Ronald (Leslie) Horne II of Woodbridge, VA; great-grandson, Brandon Hall of Bristol, TN; great-granddaughters, Lindsey Hall of Bristol, TN and Alyssa and Mackenzie Horne of Woodbridge, VA; brother, JL (Annis) Parker of Kingsport; sister, Mary Haynes of Kingsport; sisters-in-law, Virginia Parker and Jean (Sam) Jones, all of Kingsport; a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved with all her heart; special friend, (sister) June Kesner and her daughters, Lola, Toni, and Joann; and Mom's four legged companion, Trixie.

The family would like to thank Smokey Mountain Health Care for their excellent care in her final days.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11-2:00 pm at Parkers Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Mark Ball officiating.

Burial will follow at Morrison Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be James Hall, Ronald Horne II, Jerry Parker, David Parker, Mickey Parker and Tim Parker.
