Ruth Lawson

Ruth Lawson 79, of Kingsport, died Monday morning, July 22, 2019, after an extended illness. Born in Lee County, VA, she had resided in Sullivan County most of her life. Ruth was a graduate of Blountville High School. She retired from MiniFIBERS Inc. in 2006 after 30 years of service as vice-president of marketing and sales.  She was the 7th employee hired and a cornerstone of its success. Ruth was a longtime member of Rock Heritage Baptist Church in Kingsport, TN.

She was preceded in death by her son, John Lawson; daughter, Laura Mounger; parents, Reece and Addie Hurd; and brothers, James and Steve Hurd.

Ruth is survived by grandson, John Luke Lawson of Kingsport; son-in-law, Justin Mounger of Kingsport;  special niece, Julie Ashkettle of Blountville;  and second daughter, Suzi Hill of Bristol.

There will be a Celebration of Life held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at MiniFIBERS Farm, 475 Lakeside Dock Dr., Kingsport, TN 37663.
