Ruth Litton

Ruth Paulleen Litton, 85, of Kingsport, died on September 23, 2009 at the Asbury Center. She was born on May 24, 1924 and grew up in Pennington Gap, VA, the youngest child of Robert and Mossie Campbell. She attended Radford College where she earned a degree in Education and was a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority. She married Jackson D. Litton on December 27, 1946.

She is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Robert Litton of Fort Worth, TX, and Michael and MaryAnn Litton of Fredericksburg, VA; granddaughters, MaryBeth and Nicole Litton; and her sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Campbell and Vera Litton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackson; siblings, Walter Campbell and Thelma Martin; and her granddaughter, Michelle Litton.

No formal visitation will be held, but those wishing to view may do so anytime Friday afternoon, September 25, 2009, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

There will be a private, family graveside service with Rev. Kim Goddard officiating.
