Mrs. Ruth Belcher Osment, 88, formerly of Spartanburg, SC, went to be with the Lord Saturday morning, January 24, 2009 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. The wife of the late Rev. Charles Osment, she was born to the late K. B. and the late Agnes Belcher.
Mrs. Osment was a homemaker and attended the Loyalty Sunday School Class at Morningside Baptist Church where she was a member.
Surviving are her daughter Pam Easler and husband Phil of Kingsport, TN; a grandson Will Easler and wife Katie Winkle Easler of Fort Worth, TX; a step grandson Chad Easler and wife Andrea of Hilton Head, SC; two sisters Willie Clary of Spartanburg, SC, and Dorothy Brandon of Greenville, SC; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Larry Eugene Osment.
Graveside services for Mrs. Osment will be held 2pm, Monday, January 26th at Frederick Memorial Gardens in Gaffney, SC with the Rev. Dan L. Belcher officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the Chapel of Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home at Frederick Memorial Gardens. The family will also meet friends in Kingsport, TN at Colonial Heights Baptist Church on Tuesday night, January 27th, from 6 until 8pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Colonial Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, 108 Colonial Heights Road, Kingsport, TN 37663.
